34 USciences Athletes Honored for Academic Achievements by D2ADA
CLEVELAND – 34 University of the Sciences athletes, 12 more than a year ago, from eight different teams have been honored as recipients of the Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Award.
The Academic Achievement Awards is a program that recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division II level. In order to be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work, have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year, and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Notably, Daniel Pineda and Thedore Dezzi of baseball, Michael Fox of men's basketball, Laura Trisch and Colleen Walsh of women's basketball, Samantha Frear and Sara Skoritowski of women's cross country, Ashley Lewis and Evangelina Olivera of softball, and Megan Neff of women's volleyball all were honored for the second year in a row.
