McMahon Earns Second All-Region Honor This Week
University of the Sciences junior pitcher Dan McMahon earned his second All-Region Team honor this week as he was named to the 2012 Daktronics All-East Region Baseball Team as a First Team honoree. The Daktronics team is voted on by the 37 sports information directors within the East Region’s three conferences (Northeast-10 Conference, East Coast Conference and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference).

McMahon Named to the NCBWA All Region Team
University of the Sciences junior pitcher Dan McMahon has been named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II All Region First Team for his performance during the 2012 season. The team is selected by the NCBWA East Region committee which is made up of three representatives from each conference (Northeast-10, East Coast Conference and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference) in the region.

McMahon Named CACC Pitcher of the Year
University of the Sciences junior pitcher Dan McMahon has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Year in voting done by the league’s 11 baseball coaches and announced by the conference office today.

Devils Rally to Sweep Griffins; Angeloni Sets Coaching Mark
A tenth inning bases loaded walk in the opener and a six-run sixth inning in the nightcap propelled the University of the Sciences baseball team to a pair of come-from-behind wins over Chestnut Hill College Wednesday at Richie Ashburn Field in Philadelphia as the Devils won 7-6 and 10-4.

McMahon Tosses a Complete Game Shutout as Devils Salvage Split with Chargers
Saturday night’s Central Atlantic Collegiate conference baseball doubleheader between University of the Sciences and host Dominican College in Orangeburg, New York had a little of everything, from a first game slugfest to a flirtation with perfection a some school records tied in the second game.
It was in that second game the USciences ace Dan McMahon tossed his first shutout of the season as the Devils defeated the Chargers 3-0 to earn in split of the two game series. Dominican won the game one slugfest 11-10.

Devils a Triple Threat in Win over Cougars
Kyle Davis and Ronnie Petito each hit and triple while Nick Kuklane became the third straight University of the Sciences pitcher to toss a complete game as the Devils baseball team rallied to defeat Caldwell College 6-2 Thursday afternoon at Richie Ashburn Field in Philadelphia.

Former Coach Joe Hindelang Inducted into Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame
Former Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Sciences head baseball coach Joe Hindelang was inducted Tuesday night into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, City All Star Chapter at their 21st Annual Awards Banquet at Canstatter’s in Northeast Philadelphia.

One day after earning East Region Pitcher of the Week honors, University of the Sciences junior right handed pitcher Dan McMahon has been named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) National Pitcher of the Week for games played from March 5-March 11, 2012.

Senior Lou Tomasetti and junior Kyle Davis both recorded their 100th career hits for the University of the Sciences baseball team propeling the Devils to their second straight win, 3-2 over Dowling College on Thursday in Lantana, Florida.

USciences Tied for Third Nationally with 98% ASR
The NCAA today released its 2011 Division II Academic Success Rate (ASR) and federal graduation rate data for all of its Division II institutions. The Devils athletic programs recorded an overall academic success rate of 98%. This rate ties the Devils for the third highest rate amongst all NCAA Division II schools in the nation with only William Jewell College (100) and Saint Michael’s College (99) recording a higher rate.
