Golf Team Places Third at Brandywine

Ian Byerly finished in second place amongst 20 golfers competing at the Neumann University Spring Quad match Wednesday at Brandywine Country club as the University of the Sciences mixed golf team placed third amongst the four teams competing.

The Devils had a team score of 350, 23 strokes behind first place Neumann University (327) and just five strokes behind runner-up Philadelphia University (345).   Eastern University was fourth with a score of 372.  The Devils team record is now 18-25.

Byerly's score of 80 placed him five strokes behind medalist Ryan O'Donnell of Philadelphia University (75).  Byerly finished 10-over par and was in a three way tie for second with Neumann's Jeremy Gates and Philadelphia's Brad Krohl.  Joseph D'Uva had the next best score for the Devils, placing seventh overall, shooting 84 on the afternoon.

Jason Franck and Joseph Mauro rounded out the Devils four scorers finishing 11th and 13th respectively with scores of 92 and 94.  Ryan DeLorraine placed 19th with a score of 104 and was the Devils fifth golfer competing.

The Devils return to action on Sunday, April 3, 2011 when they face Philadelphia University at the ACE Club in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania.  Tee Time is 1:00 p.m.
