Devils Place Eighth at Philadelphia University Golf Classic
Freshman Joseph D'Uva finished 11 strokes off the leader as the University of the Sciences golf team placed eighth out of the ten teams competing at the Philadelphia University Golf Classic Tuesday afternoon at the ACE Club in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania.
The Devils recorded a team score of 352, seven strokes behind seventh place Philadelphia Biblical University. Drexel University won the team title with a score of 316. Their eighth place finish gives the Devils a 10-17 record on the season.
D'Uva shot a round of 85 to place 27th overall amongst the 58 golfers competing. He finished 11 strokes behind medallist Ben Feld of Drexel who shot a two-over par 74. Ian Byerly and Jason Franck both shot 87 to finish tied for 35th place.
Ryan DeLorraine rounded out the Devils four scorers, shooting 93 and finishing in 48th place. Patrick Cliggett was the final competitor for the Devils, completing his round with a score of 95.
The golf team returns to action on Saturday, October 23, 2010 when they again compete at the ACE Club against Philadelphia University.
