Storb Ties Career-Best Round in Golf’s Season-Opener

LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – Sophomore Mitchel Storb matched his career-best by shooting a round of 82 to help the University of the Sciences men's golf team tie for second in its first action of the 2017-18 season on Friday afternoon at The ACE Club.

USciences tied host Jefferson with a total of 351, while Concordia won the tri-match with a final score of 318.

Storb's 82 was good for a tie for fifth place in the field of 15.

Finishing just outside the top half of the field was junior Austin Staiano, who finished in eighth with a total of 84.

Sophomore Andy Ring began his season with a 92 to place 11th.

Freshman Nik Athmann rounded out the Devils' total by carding a 93, while fellow freshman Drew Grover began his USciences career with a 95.

University of the Sciences is back on the links next Sunday, Sept. 10 for the one-day Swarthmore Tournament at Rock Manor Country Club.
