SUFFERN, N.Y. – Three Devils improved on their first round score as the University of the Sciences men's golf team wrapped up play at the Charger Challenge hosted at Sopok Rock Golf Club on Sunday.
Leading USciences was Andy Ring, who carded an 81 to improve on his first round score by two shots. As a result, he moved up four positions to finish in a tie for 35th with a two-day total of 164.
Also improving on their first round scores were Mitchel Storb and Drew Grover, who each shot three strokes better than round one. Storb carded an 82 to finish with the second-lowest score for University of the Sciences, 167, while Grover shot a 96 for a two-day total of 195.
USciences' leader yesterday, Austin Staiano, was one shot behind Storb after a round of 88.
Rounding out University of the Sciences' competitors was Nik Athmann, who shot a 90 for a two-day total of 176.
As a team, USciences' finished the weekend with a team score of 675.
Dominican won the tournament with a two-total of 585.
University of the Sciences is right back on the course tomorrow for one final tune-up before next weekend's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championships, as it travels to The Ace Club for a tri-match with Jefferson and Penn State-Abington.
