Four-of-Five Devils Shoot Season-Best Round; Men's Golf Cards Best-Ever Round at CACC Championships

MIDDLETOWN, Del. – Four-of-Five Devils to compete shot or matched their best round of the season on Sunday afternoon in the Frist Round of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship held at Back Creek Golf Club.

The Devils currently sit in a tie for seventh with a team total of 323, USciences best-ever round at the CACC Championship dating back to 2006. The previous record was 337 set in the Second Round of the 2009 Championship.

Freshman Nik Athmann led the way with a round 78 for the best round of the season by any USciences golfer. It was eight shots better than his previous season-best round as he sits in a tie for 17th in the field of 45.

Austin Staiano was one stroke better than his previous season-best round, set just last weekend, as he shot a 79 to place in the top-half of the field in a tie for 22nd.

Andy Ring matched his season-best with a round of 81, while Drew Grover was two shots better than his previous best after shooting a 92.

Rounding out University of the Sciences' day was Mitchel Storb, who shot an 85.

Wilmington leads by 18 strokes over second place Post with a team total of 287.

The Second and Final Round of the CACC Championship begin tomorrow at 8 a.m. Fans can follow the action either via video coverage or live stats.
