BLUE BELL, Pa. – Mitchel Storb shot the two best rounds of his collegiate career this weekend, as the University of the Sciences men's golf team closed their fall season at the Devils Classic hosted at the par-71 Bluestone Country Club.
Storb first fired a 79 in the first round on Saturday to surpass his previous career-best round of 81 set last year. He then was even better on Sunday, shooting a 78 to finish in a tie for seventh in the field of 28 with a two-day total of 157.
As a team, USciences finished fourth as it shot consecutive rounds of 331 for a two-day total of 662.
Andy Ring also finished in the top-half of the field in a tie for 14th with consistent rounds of 81 and 82.
Austin Staiano improved on his first round score by six strokes after shooting a second round 80 on Sunday.
Nik Athmann's first round 85 was his second-lowest score of the season. He followed that with a 91 on Sunday.
Drew Grover closed out his fall season by improving on his first round score with a second round 99, seven strokes better than his first round score.
