Adefemi Earns First Team All-CACC Honors

New Haven, Conn. (3/1/11) - University of the Sciences men's basketball player Adewale Adefemi was named today to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Conference Team as a first team selection. The voting is done by the league's 13 coaches.

For Adefemi (Winslow Township High School/ Chesilhurst, N.J.) , this is his third consecutive year on the CACC All-Conference team, earning second team honors in 2009-10 and third team in 2008-09.

Adefemi, a senior forward, leads the Devils this season in scoring (16.3 points/game), rebounding (242, 10.1/game), field goal percentage (48.0%), and blocked shots (16). Adewale is also third on the team in assists (43, 1.8/gm.) and steals (33).

Adewale's 10.1 rebounds per game average currently ranks him third in the CACC and 15th nationally amongst all division II players. Adefemi also ranks eighth in the league in scoring, second in the league in offensive rebounds (4.5/game) and fifth in defensive rebounds (5.58/game).

A fourth-year player for the Devils, Adewale started every game for the Devils in 2010-2011 averaging 35.4 minutes per game. He set a single season record for offensive rebounds with 108 so far this year and is the Devils all-time leader with 352 offensive boards in his career.  His 852 career rebounds rank him fourth on the Devils all-time list.  Adefemi has amassed 1,410 career in 102 games played for USciences, ranking 12th all-time.

The former Winslow Township High School athlete is in his fourth and final season of play for the Devils. Adefemi is a pharmaceutical marketing/management major at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.
