Men’s Basketball Falls at Nationally Ranked St. Thomas Aquinas

SPARKILL, N.Y. – The University of the Sciences men's basketball team was defeated by No. 22 St. Thomas Aquinas, 66-51, on Tuesday night at Aquinas Hall.

Brendan Crawford led the Devils in scoring for the second game in a row with 10 points.

Freshmen Tom Gregorits and Franklin Okpala both scored their first career collegiate points and impressed in their first extended action of the season.  

Gregorits scored eight points, including 2-of-2 3-point field goals, in 10 minutes, while Okpala finished with four points, three rebounds and two assists in seven minutes.  

Paddy Casey added seven points to go along with a game-high four assists as well as five rebounds.

Beni Toure had a team-high six rebounds.

St. Thomas Aquinas scored the first six points of the game and aside from a USciences free throw the next trip down the court, the Spartans would lead by at least six the remainder of the night.

The advantage became double-digits, 14-3, 4:01 into the action and would remain that way the rest of the contest.

University of the Sciences continues its four-game road-trip this Saturday, Nov. 25 with a 3 p.m. tip at Indiana (PA).
