INDIANA, Pa. – The University of the Sciences men's basketball wrapped up play in the IUP Thanksgiving Invitational with an 82-54 defeat to Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday afternoon.
The first 12 minutes were played within a single possession but with UPJ on top 24-20 4:12 ahead of the half, the Mountain Cats scored 11 straight in less than three minutes to take the largest lead of the break, 35-20.
Despite USciences responding with five unanswered, Pitt-Johnstown made the final basket of the period to take a 37-25 advantage into the locker room and the Devils could never get closer than that in the second.
Paddy Casey was the only Devil in double figures with 12 points, and he led University of the Sciences with four assists.
Brendan Crawford was next up with eight points and a team-high seven rebounds.
Tanner Kerr added six points and six rebounds.
USciences closes out a three-game stretch away from home on Tuesday, Nov. 27 when it travels to Lincoln for an 8 p.m. tip.
