Devils Defeat Golden Rams

The University of the Sciences men's tennis team continued the fall portion of their season on Wednesday with a 6-1 win over West Chester University in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

The Devils improve to 2-1 with the win.  

David Kazekevich led the way for the Devils, teaming up with Billy fine for an 8-6 #1 doubles victory over Matt Thomas and Connor Dunn and later recording a 6-0, 6-0 win at #1 singles over Thomas to remain undefeated in dual match competition this fall.

Teammate Alvaro Vargas also remained undefeated with wins in both singles and doubles competition.  Vargas teamed up with Francisco Garcia to defeat Jimmy Aridas and Joseph Cooke 8-2 at #2 doubles and later defeated Aridas 8-0  in his #2 singles match. 

Garcia and Fine also won their singles matches with Garcia cruising to a 6-0, 6-3 win over Michael Sim and #3 singles and Fine defeating Dunn 6-3, 6-3 at #4 singles.  Julian Katzev also recorded an 8-2 pro-set win over Steve Motkya at #6 singles to make his collegiate debut a successful one. 

The Devils return to action on Sunday, October 17, 2010 when they travel to East Stroudsburg University to take on the Warriors.
