Nguyen and Novak Continue Winning Ways in Men’s Tennis’ Loss at St. Thomas Aquinas

SPARKILL, N.Y. – Nathan Nguyen and Borna Novak improved to 4-1 together this season with an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles, but the University of the Sciences men's tennis team fell at St. Thomas Aquinas in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon.

The duo gave USciences the early lead by improving to 2-0 in dual action together on the year.

St. Thomas Aquinas would go on to win the final eight matches. 

Novak came closest to winning his singles match after sweeping his second flight competitor in the first set. After falling in the second, 3-6, the two went to a third set tiebreaker where his opponent prevailed by the narrowest of margins, 9-7.

University of the Sciences returns home to the McNeil Family Courts on Wednesday, Oct. 4 to host Chestnut Hill at 2:30 p.m.
