Nguyen and Novak Remain Unbeaten in Dual Play; Men’s Tennis Falls to Chestnut Hill in Fall Home Finale

PHILADELPHIA – Nathan Nguyen and Borna Novak remained unbeaten in dual play as the University of the Sciences men's tennis team closed its fall home schedule with a loss against Chestnut Hill on Wednesday afternoon at the McNeil Family Courts.

Nguyen and Novak improved to a perfect 3-0 in dual matches this fall, as well as 5-1 overall, as they outlasted their No. 1 doubles counterparts 8-6.

That victory got USciences (1-2) on board, and the Devils nearly came away with an early singles point after Sahas Chandragiri won the first set of his third flight singles match, but his competitor took a tight 6-4 second set before prevailing 10-6 in a third set tiebreaker.

Nguyen also battled in his singles match, dropping a close 5-7 first set before falling 3-6 in the second.

Chestnut Hill (1-0) would win all six singles matches.

University of the Sciences closes out its fall season on Monday, Oct. 9 at the District of Columbia.
