Devils Place Eighth at Jack St. Clair Race; Fourth Top Ten Finish of Season

The University of the Sciences men's cross country team closed out their regular season Saturday afternoon with an eighth place finish at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial Cross Country Championship at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia.

Their eighth place finish marks the fourth "top ten" finish by the Devils this season in five regular season races.  Their eighth place finish is also three places higher than the team placed in last year's Jack St. Clair Race when they recorded an 11th place finish.  Head-to-head vs. all opponents through the team's five regular season meets the team is 50-46.

The Devils finished with 232 points to earn their fifth place finish amongst the 20 schools and running clubs that placed runners on the starting line, 21 behind seventh place Post University.  Wilmington University won the meet with 55 points followed by Temple University with 88.  Goldey-Beacom College was third with 90 points.

Junior Tim Storino (Roman Catholic HS/Philadelphia, Pa.) was the Devils top finisher placing 27th overall with a time of 30:10.8.  Right behind him was freshman Christopher Robison (Middle Township HS/Delhaven, N.J.) in 28th place with a time of 30:13.2.  For Storino it marked his second fastest time ever in a race at Belmont Plateau. Senior Tommy Mauro (Carbondale HS/Carbondale, Pa.) was the third Devil to finish, placing 64th overall with a time of 32:20.6.

Freshman Billy Librizzi (Cedar Creek HS/Galloway, N.J.) and sophomore David Wilds (Haverford HS/Havertown, Pa.) rounded out the Devils top five scorers.  Librizzi finished the 8,000-meter race in 33:12.1 while Wilds finished in 33:29.0.

Seniors Chiedozie Chukwuneke (J.P. Stevens HS/Edison, N.J.) and Christopher Noce (Salesianum HS (Del.)/Mullica Hill, N.J.) rounded out the Devils competitors.   Chukwuneke finished in 34:01.4 and Noce in 35:50.4.  For Chukwuneke his time of 34:01 was 22 seconds better than his previous best time for an 8K race this season.

Next up for the men's cross country team will be the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championships on October 25, 2015 at Belmont Plateau.  The men's race starts at 9:00 a.m.
