Philadelphia, Pa. (December 23, 2010) - University of the Sciences sophomore Brad Driscoll (Alvirne High School/Hudson, N.H.) has been named the Mid Atlantic Rifle Conference (MAC) Smallbore Rifle Shooter of the month for the month of November 2010 as announced today by the conference.

Driscoll  is the fourth shooter from USciences to earn this honor since the award’s inception in 2008 and the first male shooter from the school to receive the honor.  Previous winners include Courtney Cavalieri (Smallbore, February 2009); Hannah Goess(Smallbore, November 2008) and Deborah Booth (Air Rifle, October 2008). The award was created in 2008 and honors two shooters (one smallbore, one air) each month. The award is not necessarily based on the highest scores fired that month but to award outstanding performances (personal bests, recording scores well above season averages, gritty performances despite extraneous duress, etc), leadership, work ethic, classroom work and community service.

In the Devils two matches in November, the Hudson, New Hampshire native posted smallbore scores of 570 vs. Akron and 573 vs. IUP in the month of November.  Currently Driscoll holds a 569.67 smallbore average which is 6th in the MAC, and has a 575.40 air average placing him 9th in the MAC.  Brad was named to the 2009-10 MAC All-Academic Team and MAC All Rookie Team.
