CACC "My Hometown" Series: Evangelina Olivera (Pendleton, Ore.) "Pendleton is a small rodeo town, surrounded by farm land in the desert of Oregon. The first question most people ask me is, "what is there to do around there for fun?" The answer is by yourself not much, but together as a community, everything. In a small town, we are not just a community, we are family. The constant support from those around me has given me the confidence to reach out of my comfort zone, knowing that I will have mentors and encouragement to reach whatever goal I strive for. In an environment where everyone knows everyone, a sense of trust and honesty is built. It has given me the aspect of work ethic, where my mind is set on becoming the best person I can in an effort to instill pride in my community around me. I wouldn't be where I am today without Pendleton molding me into the person I am today." Full Story
