Devils Jump to Seventh in East Region Rankings

The University of the Sciences women's basketball team made their second consecutive appearance in this week’s Division II East Region Poll, moving up one spot to seventh.  The Devils swept three games last week to extend their winning streak to 14-games and become the first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference team to reach the 20-win mark with a 20-4 record.

The Devils, coached by Paul Stadelberger, opened the week with a 69-64 win over Philadelphia University.  Caitlin Shaw led the way scoring 25 points on 11-12 shooting from the field.  Sciences then added a non-conference win over Washington Adventist 78-33 as Colleen Christian tied the school record for three-point field goals in a game with seven enroute to equaling her career high with 25 points.

Sciences closed out the week with a 54-47 win over CACC North leader Bloomfield College, clinching a home playoff spot and extending their streak to 14 games.  Shaw again led the Devils with 16 points.

The Devils play Holy Family University on Wednesday night, looking to keep their win streak alive and possibly claim a share of the CACC Southern Division title.  The Devils will conclude the week and the regular season on the road at Post University on Saturday.
