Women’s Basketball Team to Face Villanova University as 2011-2012 Schedule is Announced

The University of the Sciences athletic department has announced their 2011-2012 Women’s basketball schedule.   The Devils will play a 27-game schedule in this their 25th season, highlighted by a game in November against Division I Villanova University.

The Villanova game will take place on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Villanova’s Pavilion with a 2:00 p.m. start time.  The game marks the Devils first ever Division I opponent during the regular season.

In addition to the Villanova game, the Devils will face a pair of East Coast Conference schools and five Pennsylvania State Athletic conference schools as part of their non-conference slate. USciences will also play 19 conference games within the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.  ECC schools St. Thomas Aquinas (Nov. 12, 2 p.m.) and C.W. Post (Nov. 13, 1:30 p.m.) kick off the season for the Devils as part of an ECC-CACC Challenge.  Both games will be played at USciences’ Bobby Morgan Arena. 

After the C.W. Post game the Devils take to the road for games at Bloomsburg (Nov. 16) and Kutztown (Nov. 23) before their marquis matchup against Villanova on the 26th.  The Devils will then open conference play at Goldey-Beacom College (Dec. 6) before returning home for CACC games against Post (Dec. 10) and Philadelphia University (Dec. 17).

Sciences close out 2011 with three non-conference matchups on the road, taking on East Stroudsburg University (Dec. 19), Millersville University (Dec. 30 @West Chester) and West Chester (Dec. 31).  After the first of the year the Devils will the remainder of their conference schedule with seven games at home and nine on the road.  

Conference-wise, the Devils will play home-and-home contests against Philadelphia University, Holy Family University, Goldey-Beacom College, Wilmington University and Georgian Court University.  The Devils will also have home games against Post University, Caldwell College, and Dominican College while traveling to Nyack College, Bloomfield College, and Concordia College.
