USciences Basketball’s Fox and Ye Named Academic All-District® by CoSIDA

CoSIDA Release

Michael Fox and Irisa Ye of the University of the Sciences basketball program have both been voted on to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-March.

District 1 consists of the 39 teams from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), the Northeast 10 and the East Coast Conference.

Fox and Ye were the only representatives from the CACC amongst District 1's 11 honorees.

Currently a graduate student in his redshirt-senior season, Fox has earned Dean's List Honors as a Pharmacy major in each of his nine semesters at USciences, including achieving six consecutive semesters with a 4.0 grade point average (GPA).

He was awarded the 2018 CACC Top XVI Award, is a three-time D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award recipient, a two-time CACC All-Academic Team member, and was a member of the 2018 NABC Honors Court.

On the court Fox is having his most successful season as a Devil, having started nine times in 21 appearances for USciences after not making a start in 25 appearances his first four years.

He has scored in double-figures twice this season, including recording career-highs of 14 points and seven points against Wilmington on Jan. 16.

Ye is a three-time Dean's List Honoree with a cumulative 3.91 GPA though three semesters as Biomedical Sciences major at University of the Sciences.

The sophomore is currently atop the CACC with a 55.6 field goal percentage, is second with a 42.6 3-point percentage, and fourth with an average of 16.1 points per game.

This season Ye has been named the USBWA Division II National Player of the Week, CACC Player of the Week, and the CACC Student-Athlete of the Month for Dec. 2018.
