USciences Announces 2011 Women's and Men's Tennis Schedules

The University of the Sciences Athletic Department has announced their Men's and Women's Tennis schedules for the upcoming 2011-12 season.  The women's team kicks off their season on September 7 at Goldey-Beacom College while the men kick off the fall portion of their season on September 15 with a home match against West Chester University.

The women's team will have eight Central Atlantic Collegiate conference matches in the fall, starting with the Goldey-Beacom match.  USciences home opener will be against Post University on September 10.  The Devils will also host Holy Family University (9/13); Georgian Court University (9/24) and Caldwell College (10/15).

In addition to the conference schedule, the women's team will compete in the ITA Division II East Regional Tournament on September 17-19 and will have one non-conference match, traveling to West Chester on September 29.  The USciences women will also have two non-conference matches in the spring, taking on University of the District of Columbia and Millersville University.

The men's team has four non-conference matches in the fall portion of their season, starting with the season opener against West Chester.  USciences will also host Southern New Hampshire University (9/16) and Chestnut Hill College (9/22) while traveling to face Division I La Salle University on October 4.   The men's team, like the women will also compete in the ITA Regional Tournament.

Six conference matches highlight the men's schedule in the spring along with an additional four non-conference contests which will have the Devils taking on West Chester, Dowling College, and Division III opponents Cabrini College and Haverford College.

The CACC Women's Tennis championship will take place on October 22-23 at Concordia College in Bronxville, New York with the top four teams qualifying for a playoff berth.   Concordia will also host the men's championship in the spring on April 21-22.

The men's team finished with a 9-8 record in 2010 and was qualified for the NCAA East Region Championship for the second consecutive year with an at-large berth.  The women's team finished with a 2-8 record in 2010-11.
