FLUSHING, N.Y. – Karla Miletic received the No. 2 overall singles seed as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released the draw for this weekend's Division II East Region Championships, which take place from Sept. 22-25 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.
Notably, Miletic is also seeded eighth in the doubles draw with partner Abbygail Gamarnik.
One the men's side, Nathan Nguyen and Borna Novak received the respective eighth and 26th qualifying seeds in the men's singles draw and are seeded 15th in the doubles draw.
Also competing for University of the Sciences this weekend are Elkanah Linder, Julia James and Danielle Paran on the women's side, and Chandat Phan, Sahas Chandragiri, Rakesh Chamala and William Bentley on the men's side.
As the No. 2 seed, Miletic has received a bye into the Round of 32. She and Gamarnik will begin doubles play in the Round of 64 along with Linder and Paran.
In the singles draw, James received a bye into the Second Qualifying Round, meaning she will need to win one match to enter the main draw in the Round of 64. Gamarnik, Linder and Paran all begin singles play in the First Qualifying Round, meaning they will need to win two matches to enter the main draw.
As the eighth qualifying seed in the men's draw, Nguyen received a bye into the Second Qualifying Round, while Phan, Chandragiri, Chamala and Bentley all begin their weekend in the First Qualifying Round.
In men's doubles action, Nguyen and Novak are teamed together, while Phan is paired with Bentley and Chandragiri is paired with Shamala. All three pairs will begin play in the Round of 64.
