NEW HAVEN, Conn. – One year after being named the first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Tennis Player and Rookie of the Year in USciences women's tennis history, sophomore Karla Miletic has repeated as the CACC Women's Tennis Player of the Year the league announced on Tuesday.
Miletic becomes the first player to repeat as CACC Women's Tennis Player of the Year since Stephanie Puentes of Goldey-Beacom in 2011-12.
Miletic recently completed her second straight unbeaten regular season in CACC play with a 7-0 record to improve to a perfect 15-0 in her first two years in the conference, with all victories coming at the first flight.
For the season, she currently leads University of the Sciences at 10-2 overall, including 8-1 in dual play.
A year after breaking the program's single-season wins record with a 21-2 mark, Miletic now stands at 31-4 overall and is just five victories away from becoming the program's all-time wins leader.
Miletic has also had doubles success with partner Abbygail Gamarnik this season. USciences' No. 1 pair is tied for the team-lead with 10 victories, and the duo is currently on a four-match win streak.
Miletic is also climbing her way up the program's record book for career doubles victories after setting the single-season wins record of 15 with Elkanah Linder in 2016-17. Her 25-14 career mark currently puts her in a tie for fifth in program history.
Miletic and her teammates host Jefferson in the First Round of the CACC Tournament later today, Oct. 17, at 1:30 p.m. at the McNeil Tennis Courts. University of the Sciences is making back-to-back appearances in the Tournament first the first time since 2005-07.
