Miletic and Gamarnik go 3-0; Three Different Pairs win as Women’s Tennis Competes at TCNJ’s Lions Doubles Tournament

EWING, N.J. – The duo of Karla Miletic and Abbygail Gamarnik finished the day unbeaten at 3-0, and Danielle Paran and Stephanie Mazurek went 2-1, as the University of the Sciences women's tennis team closed out its weekend at The College of New Jersey with the Lions Doubles Tournament on Sunday.

Notably, Elkanah Linder and Julia James also paired for a victory to help the Devils finish the day 6-5.

Miletic and Gamarnik comfortably defeated pairs from New York University, TCNJ and Dickinson, 8-3, 8-4 and 8-1, to become the fourth and fifth players in program history to reach 30 career doubles wins. Gamarnik ended the day tied for third in program history with 32 career doubles victories.

Underclassmen Paran and Mazurek were 8-0 and 8-4 winners over duos from Dickinson. Notably, Paran is now tied for 10th in program history with 18 career doubles wins, while the triumphs were the first of Mazurek's career.

Linder's and James' victory was an 8-5 decision over opponents from Dickinson.

Gabrielle Soriano and Han Le nearly made it a perfect 4-for-4 for USciences' four duos, but the pair fell just short by a score of 10-12 in a super tiebreaker.

University of the Sciences opens its dual season tomorrow, Sept. 10, when it welcomes Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe Concordia for its first-ever home match at the Hamlin Center at 5:30 p.m.
