Kelly Wins Shot Put; Hallinan Places Second in 1500m with Fastest Time in CACC This Season at Moravian’s Greyhound Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – McKayla Kelly won the shot put, matching her Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) leading mark, while William Hallinan ran the fastest 1500m in the league this year to place second in the 1500m, to highlight USciences track and field's day at the Moravian's Greyhound Invitational on Saturday.

Kelly beat out 15 other competitors by over .80m, marking at a school-record 11.77m for the second week in a row to maintain her position atop the conference. She also placed in the top-half of the field in the javelin, as her furthest throw of 29.01m was good for 10th.

Chloe Georges also posted two top-10 finishes on the day, placing fourth in the shot put with a mark of 10.38 and seventh out of 19 in the discus after her furthest toss traveled 30.35m. 

Hallinan broke his own school record for the second week in a row to place second in a field of 43, crossing in 4:03.54 to finish just under three and a half seconds behind the winner and .01 seconds ahead of third place.   

Also placing in the top-half of the field in the event was Ryan Ward, who crossed 21st in 4:19. 68. 

Placing in the top-third of his field was Alton McKenley, who ran the 200m in 23.18 to finish 14th out of 45. 

Johnathan Epstein finished in the top-half of the 5000m in 10th, completing the event in 16:43.10. 

Dylan Zuch ran a collegiate-best 11:35.20 in the 3000m steeplechase, while Abdallah Elbready crossed in a collegiate-best 28.12 in the 200m. 

The 4x400m men's relay team will run at the historic Penn Relays, held at Franklin Field, next Friday at 4:15 p.m., while the remainder of the squad will get its final preparation for May 5's CACC Championships next Sunday, April 28 at the Delaware Open.
