Golden Rams Sweep Devils

West Chester University's women's volleyball team handed the University of the Sciences their fifth straight defeat Tuesday evening at the Bobby Morgan Arena, defeating the Devils in straight sets 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-13). 

The loss drops Sciences record to 5-9 overall while West Chester improves to 15-7. 

The senior middle hitter duo of Christine Puschak and Cady Rich led the Devils with eight and seven kills respectively.  Senior Sarah Hickman had 13 assists.  Defensively, sophomore Stacey Wooden paced Sciences with 15 digs while Hickman and sophomore Sheryse Taylor had nine apiece. 

West Chester was led by Lexi Kegerise (12 kills) and Michelle Powers (10 kills).  Helen Fitzpatrick had 26 assists.  Powers and Dana Markol recorded three aces apiece and Markol led the team with eight digs. 

The Devils return to conference play on Thursday, October 14, 2010 when they travel to Roxborough/East Falls section of Philadelphia to take on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference southern division leading Philadelphia Rams.  First serve will be at 5:30 p.m.
