Sangu Reaches Milestone on Friday Night; Volleyball Drops Two Matches to Undefeated Opponents

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Simran Sangu became the ninth player in University of the Sciences volleyball history to reach 100 career block assists on Friday night. 

The senior came into the day three shy of the century mark and recorded two in USciences' opening match against West Chester on Friday afternoon.

With time winding down in the third set of the Devils' second match versus Millersville later on in the evening, Sangu combined with Sarah Miller for the milestone moment.

University of the Sciences (1-2) fell to both the undefeated Golden Rams (6-0) and Marauders (6-0) in straight sets.  

Rhiannon Comia led all players with 15 digs in the setback to Millersville.

Cassandra Moy led USciences in assists in both matches, totaling 21, and also tied Elizabeth Checca with a team-high 7 digs in the opening match against West Chester.

Checca and Brooke Witmer each recorded a team-best three kills in the nightcap, while Dakota Raymond paced the Devils with four kills in the opener.

University of the Sciences open Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play on Wednesday, Sept. 13 with a 7 p.m. match at Dominican.
