PHILADELPHIA – University of the Sciences senior Brooke Witmer was one of seven student-athletes to be voted on to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Volleyball Team.
The team is voted on by the sports information offices of the 30 institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
In November, Witmer was also one of seven student-athletes voted on to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® 1 Volleyball Team, which consists of the 37 teams from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), East Coast Conference and Northeast 10.
She has a perfect 4.0 GPA through her first six semesters as a Pharmacy major at University of the Sciences, and is a two-time CACC All-Academic Team member and two-time recipient of the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award.
On the court this season, Witmer led USciences and ranked eighth in the CACC with .75 blocks per set. Her 52 block assists were the sixth-most in a single-season in program history.
She ends her career tied for fourth all-time with 151 career block assists, and ninth with 219 career total blocks.
Witmer also led the team with a .235 hitting percentage, which ranked 12th in the CACC, and she was second on the team with .34 service aces per set and third with 1.95 kills per set.
