PHILADELPHIA – The University of the Sciences men's basketball team got off to a good start against Felician on Saturday afternoon, before the Golden Falcons came storming back to put the game away early in the second half in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action at Bobby Morgan Arena.
The Devils were leading 22-15 with 10:01 to go in the opening half when Brandon Starr converted a four-point play.
Felician would go on to score 10 unanswered and would lead the rest of the way.
A Golden Falcon layup at the 3:58 mark to make the score 34-24 completed a 19-2 run.
USciences got as close as four, 32-36, on back-to-back layups by Tanner Kerr and Paddy Casey, the second coming 1:29 ahead of the break, but Felician closed the half with a 3-pointer and would go on to open the second with a 15-4 surge in the opening 4:20.
Brendan Crawford led University of the Sciences with a game-high 16 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Tanner Kerr finished with seven points, six rebounds and three assists.
USciences outrebounded Felician 39-32, but the Devils had more than double the turnovers as the Golden Falcons, 17-8, leading to a 26-14 gap in points off turnovers.
Felician also made more than double the 3-pointers as University of the Sciences, 12-5.
University of the Sciences is back at home to host Wilmington on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m.
