KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of the Sciences men's basketball was announced as a recipient of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award for a third year in a row on Thursday.
USciences has now earned the honor in four of the last five years.
The award recognizes outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2018-19 season.
University of the Sciences men's basketball posted a 3.40 GPA in the 2018-19 academic year, with of 10 of its 16 student-athletes earning Dean's List Honors.
Michael Fox, Brandon Hathaway, JJ Melchior and Franklin Okpala all earned Dean's List Honors twice, while Brendan Crawford, Beni Toure, Danny Kelly, Tom Gregorits, Jordan White and Cameron Hoffman earned it once.
Notably, Fox posted a perfect 4.0 GPA in the fall and joined Hathaway and Toure on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Academic Team in the spring.
