Nguyen Wins Singles Match; Doubles Matches Tight in Men’s Tennis’ Loss to Le Moyne

PHILADELPHIA – After dropping three closely contested doubles matches, Nathan Nguyen won in singles play in the University of the Sciences men's tennis team's 6-1 loss to Le Moyne on Sunday afternoon at the Hamlin Center. 

Nguyen defeated his fourth flight opponent in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.

Jack Kosiorowski nearly made it two wins in singles play for USciences, falling in a third set super tiebreaker 10-5 after splitting the first two sets, 2-6, 6-1. 

The afternoon started with three tight doubles matches, two of which went to a tiebreaker.

Borna Markusic and Sahas Chandragiri dropped their second flight tiebreaker 9-7, while Nguyen and Kosiorowski fell 7-1 at No. 1 doubles.

The third flight was also close, with Borna Novak and Evan Halperin falling 7-5.  

University of the Sciences returns to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play this Tuesday, hosting Jefferson at 5:30 p.m.
