Men’s Tennis Sweeps Singles Play at West Chester for Victory in First Dual Match of Season

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The University of the Sciences men's tennis team did not drop a set in singles play en route to a 6-1 triumph over West Chester in the Devils' first dual match of the season on Friday afternoon.

After West Chester took the doubles point despite a 6-2 first flight victory for Borna Markusic and Oscar Serra, the pair's second win together this season, no Devil dropped more than seven games in singles play.

Serra won his team-best third match of the season at No. 1 singles, while Markusic picked up his second victory of the year at No. 2 singles.

Freshman Heimraj Resaul and graduate-transfer Brandon Gildea both won their first career matches for USciences, at the fifth and sixth flight.

Jack Kosiorowski and Sahas Chandragiri rounded out the perfect singles performance with wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles.

University of the Sciences hits the road to take on District of Columbia next Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 11 a.m.
