Markusic and Serra Team for Win in Men’s Tennis’ Fall Finale Against St. Thomas Aquinas

PHILADELPHIA – Borna Markusic and Oscar Serra won their fourth straight match together in the USciences men's tennis team's fall finale against St. Thomas Aquinas on Monday evening at Hamlin Center.  

The duo is now 5-1 on the season after a 7-5 triumph at No. 1 doubles. 

University of the Sciences nearly took the doubles point, but Jack Kosiorowski and Brandon Gildea and Rakesh Chamala and Sahas Chandragiri were edged by identical 4-6 scores at the second and third flight. 

Serra also put together USciences' best performance in singles play, splitting the opening first two sets with his first flight opponent, 2-6, 6-4, before their match went unfinished.  

St. Thomas Aquinas won the first three singles matches to finish, therefore sealing a 4-0 victory as the two teams were playing to clinch.  

University of the Sciences now takes a break for the remainder of the fall semester, before returning to action for its championship season in the spring.
