Wright Wins Second CACC Rookie of the Week Award of Season

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – University of the Sciences' Tori Wright has won her second Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Rookie of the Week Award of the season, it was announced on Monday.

The freshman led all players in kills in both of the Devils' matches last week en route to averaging 5.0 per set on .220 hitting. She also posted double-doubles in both matches, averaging 3.22 digs per set, while also contributing seven service aces.

Wright began the week falling one kill and one service ace shy of program records for a four-set match (25-point era) with match-highs of 21 and six, the latter tying a season-best, in a four-set loss to Wilmington on Wednesday. She added 13 digs for her fourth consecutive double-double.

The King of Prussia, Pa. native then had 24 kills at Caldwell on Friday as USciences came back from a two-set deficit to win in five. The 24 kills tied a season-high for the second time in four matches and were nine more than any other player, and she also set a new season-best with 16 digs.

Wright and her teammates next take the court tomorrow, Nov. 5, for a 7 p.m. match at Goldey-Beacom.
